Road Construction Congestion Continues in Blairsville

The State Contractors will be back out again today in front of the Chevron/Wendy's pouring concrete. There will be delays in this area that is out of our control (this is a State Route).

WHAT WILL BE AFFECTED: Hwy 515 E will be closed down to a one-lane roadway between Glenn Gooch Bypass and Wet N' Wild Car Wash (the red line on the map below).

TIMES: 11 a.m. until approximately 3 p.m.

ALTERNATE ROUTES:

If traveling westbound toward the City of Blairsville on Hwy 515:

1) Turn right onto Old Smokey Rd, Watkins Rd, or Ledford Rd. Watkins Rd and Ledford Rd will take you to Old Smokey Rd. Turn left onto Old Smokey Rd. This will bring you to Weaver Rd. If you turn right on Weaver Rd, it will take you toward the hospital. If you turn left onto Weaver Rd, it will bring you out next to Home Depot.

2) Turn left onto Panther Cir and then turn left onto Glenn Gooch Bypass (there may be some traffic backed up here).

If traveling eastbound away from the City of Blairsville:

1) Take Glenn Gooch Bypass to Panther Cir. Go to the end of Panther Cir and turn right onto Hwy 515 E.

2) From Pat Haralson Dr, you can turn onto Deep South Farm Rd (like you are going toward the hospital). If you pass the hospital, the next road on your right will be Weaver Rd. Take Weaver Rd to Ledford Rd or Old Smokey Rd. CAUTION: You will have to make a left onto Hwy 515 E, so please be careful.

If traveling on Glenn Gooch Bypass:

1) If you are needing to go east from Glenn Gooch Bypass, utilize Panther Cir to cut over to Hwy 515 E.

2) If you are needing to go west from Glenn Gooch Bypass, either take 129 on into town toward the square, or utilize Roscoe Collins Dr (next to the football field) and go back toward town that way.

This should be the last day for the concrete pour in this location. We will try to keep everyone updated on any future closures. We know this is a major inconvenience for everyone, and we appreciate everyone's patience during all of this construction!
