The Union County Fire Department announced today that two of its sergeants have successfully completed an intensive series of leadership development courses, strengthening their skills to better serve the department and community.

Sergeant Caleb Beise and Sergeant Adam Plott recently graduated from three specialized leadership programs at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC). The courses included:

  • Leadership in Supervision 1: Creating Environments for Professional Growth

  • Leadership in Supervision 2: Perspectives in Thinking

  • Leadership in Supervision 3: Frameworks to Success

Each course required 16 hours of instruction and focused on building essential supervisory skills for fire service professionals. Training topics covered effective communication, team development, critical thinking, leadership strategies, decision-making, and creating positive work environments.

The programs are designed to equip current and future leaders with the tools needed to better manage personnel, enhance operational effectiveness, and promote ongoing professional growth within their organizations.

“Strong leadership is essential to the success of any fire department,” said Union County Fire Chief David Dyer. “Sergeant Beise and Sergeant Plott continue to demonstrate their commitment to professional development and to becoming stronger leaders for our department and community.”

By completing the three-course series, both sergeants have enhanced their ability to guide personnel, foster teamwork, and support the continued advancement of the Union County Fire Department.

The department extended its congratulations to Sergeant Beise and Sergeant Plott for their achievement and ongoing dedication to leadership excellence and training.

This accomplishment reflects Union County Fire and Rescue’s continued emphasis on professional development to maintain high standards of service and leadership throughout the organization.
