Union County Launches Free RAVE Alert System for Emergency, Weather and Public Safety Notifications

BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. — Union County Emergency Management Agency is introducing a new free alert system that will notify residents of emergencies, severe weather and other public safety issues through text messages, phone calls or email.

The RAVE Alert System delivers three types of notifications. Emergency alerts cover situations such as evacuations, fires, floods, chemical spills and other life-threatening events. Weather warnings automatically notify residents of severe weather alerts issued by the National Weather Service. Public safety notifications address non-life-threatening matters, including road closures and utility issues.

Residents can choose to receive alerts by text message, phone call or email. The service is free.

Union County EMA encourages residents to register immediately. People can sign up by scanning the QR code on the agency’s flyer or by visiting https://tinyurl.com/UnionRave.

Officials said the system is designed to improve communication during both critical incidents and routine public safety disruptions across the county.
