Andrews falls to Hayesville 1-0 in season opener

ANDREWS, N.C. — Andrews High School couldn’t take advantage of its home pitch Monday, falling 1-0 to the Hayesville Yellow Jackets in the season opening Smoky Mountain Conference match-up.


The game remained locked at 0-0 through halftime, but Hayesville managed to break through in the second half and hold off the Wildcats to secure the win.


Andrews will look to bounce back Wednesday, Sept. 3 in a 6 p.m. matchup against Tri-County.
