ANDREWS, N.C. — The Andrews Wildcats volleyball team saw their four-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday night, Sept. 11, falling 3-0 to the Hayesville Lady Yellow Jackets in a match hosted by Hayesville High School. The set scores were 25-14, 25-10, and 25-21, as the Wildcats struggled to match Hayesville’s intensity.
Entering the game with an 8-2 record, Andrews faced a formidable Hayesville squad that had won their last two matches decisively. The Yellowjackets, who also defeated Andrews in their previous encounter, maintained control throughout the match, dropping the Wildcats to an 8-3 record.
Despite the loss, Andrews showed resilience, particularly in the third set, where they narrowed the gap but couldn’t overcome Hayesville’s lead. The Wildcats will look to rebound in their next game when they travel to face Union County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15
