Andrews Lady Wildcats Defeat Rosman Lady Tigers 3-1 in Smoky Mountain Conference Match

ROSMAN, N.C. — The Andrews Lady Wildcats defeated the Rosman Lady Tigers 3-1 in a Smoky Mountain Conference volleyball match Tuesday night at Rosman High School.


Andrews (4-1, 2-1 SMC) dropped the first set 16-25 but rallied to win the next three sets 25-20, 29-27, and 25-22. The third set was a tight battle, with the Lady Wildcats edging out Rosman to take control of the match.


Chanteah Rattler led Andrews with 16 kills and seven aces. Juliet Holloway added 28 digs and two blocks, while Kaiya Ellis contributed 31 assists. The Lady Wildcats recorded 52 kills, 15 aces, and 123 digs as a team.


Rosman (2-3, 2-2 SMC) was paced by Tristin Powell with seven kills. Reid Jolie had two blocks and two aces, and Savannah Greene recorded 13 digs and 21 receptions. Kihana Sexton provided 17 assists. The Lady Tigers tallied 27 kills, four blocks, and 47 digs.


Andrews averages 2.4 wins per match, with set scores of 20.2, 23.6, 21.8, and 25.0. Rosman averages 1.4 wins, with set scores of 21.0, 19.3, 20.3, and 23.5.


The teams will meet again Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. in Andrews, where the Lady Tigers will look to even the head-to-head series after Andrews’ 1-0 advantage.
