BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. — The Blairsville Police Department is celebrating a major milestone for two of its top leaders. Chief of Police Michael “Bear” Baxter and Assistant Chief Russell “Rusty” Walker recently reached 25 years of service with the City of Blairsville.


The department praised both men for their dedication and commitment, noting their “thankless acts day in and day out” in service to the community. Officials expressed gratitude for the decades of leadership and experience that Baxter and Walker bring to the department.


“This is a remarkable achievement,” the department said in a social media post. “We are grateful for their many years of service.”
