Families in Cherokee County and surrounding areas are invited to a fun-filled day of fishing as the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office hosts its annual Kid's Fishing Day on Saturday, May 30.
The event, which will take place rain or shine, is scheduled from 9 a.m. until "the fish stop biting," with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. Organizers note that the start time may be delayed in the event of heavy rain or storms.
The Kid's Fishing Day will be held at the Sheriff's Office Firing Range, located at 9554 US 19 in Marble, NC 28905. Young anglers are encouraged to bring their own fishing poles, though G&S Bait is generously providing worms and donating several fishing poles to help ensure everyone can participate. The flyer highlights "FREE BAIT!! BRING YOUR POLE!!" with playful worm illustrations.
In addition to fishing, attendees can enjoy on-site food trucks offering snow cones and lunch plates. The event promises a family-friendly atmosphere with cartoon illustrations of excited kids catching fish featured prominently on the promotional flyer.
The event is hosted by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, whose star-shaped badge logo appears at the top of the flyer alongside whimsical fishing cartoons.
