Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Swears In New Deputy

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has added a new member to its ranks.

Sheriff Chris Wood swore in Deputy Jake Boring during a ceremony held at the sheriff’s office, with Boring’s family present for the occasion.

According to the sheriff’s office, Boring is a second-generation law enforcement officer. He is following in the footsteps of his father, who served as a veteran trooper with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Deputy Boring will begin field training in the coming days as he prepares to attend Basic Law Enforcement Training in July.

Sheriff Wood said the department is proud to welcome Boring to the agency as he begins his career in law enforcement.
