Copper Basin Sweeps Hiwassee Dam

HIWASSEE DAM, N.C. — The Hiwassee Dam Eagles volleyball team fell short against the Copper Basin Cougars, losing 3-0 in a competitive match on Monday, Sept. 22.. The defeat marked the Eagles' second loss to the Cougars this season, following a 3-2 setback in August.



Despite the sweep, Hiwassee Dam pushed Copper Basin to the limit, particularly in the first set, which ended 27-25. The Cougars maintained their edge in the subsequent sets, closing out the match with scores of 25-23 and 25-20.


The loss dropped Hiwassee Dam's record to 3-13, while Copper Basin continued their strong run, improving to 8-5. The Cougars have now won four of their last five matches, showcasing their momentum this season.


The Lady Eagles will try to rebound in their upcoming home games. Hiwassee Dam will face Andrews at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25.
