Franklin Lady Panthers Sweep Hayesville in Season-Opening Volleyball Match

HAYESVILLE, N.C. — The Franklin High School Lady Panthers opened their volleyball season with a decisive victory over the Hayesville High School Lady Yellow Jackets on Monday, August 11, dominating both the junior varsity and varsity matches in straight sets.
In the junior varsity match, Franklin’s Lady Panthers set the tone early, taking the first set 25-17. The second set was closer, but Franklin pulled away to win 25-20, securing a 2-0 match victory.
The varsity contest followed a similar script. Franklin’s Lady Panthers controlled the first set, cruising to a 25-15 win. Hayesville showed resilience in the second set, keeping it competitive, but Franklin prevailed 25-22. The Lady Panthers sealed the sweep in the third set, winning 25-17 to claim the match 3-0.
The season opener showcased Franklin’s strong play on both levels, while Hayesville looks to regroup as they prepare to host Highlands on Tuesday, August 12.
