The Hayesville Yellow Jackets kept their impressive roll going Friday night, defeating the Andrews Wildcats 13-10 to extend their winning streak to 13 games.
Hayesville (13-4) came into the matchup with 12 consecutive victories and once again got the best of Andrews, improving to 2-0 against the Wildcats this season after also winning 11-1 on Thursday.
The Yellow Jackets’ offense exploded for 13 runs in the rematch, powering them past a tough Andrews squad. The win bumped Hayesville’s record to 13-4 overall.
Both teams will take their show on the road Tuesday afternoon. Hayesville travels to Rosman for a 4:30 p.m. showdown. The Yellow Jackets have been one of the area’s most dangerous offensive teams, averaging a strong 6.7 runs per game this season, so Rosman’s pitchers will have their hands full.
Andrews will head to Cherokee for a 4:30 p.m. contest as they look to quickly rebound from the rare home setback.
Hayesville has shown no signs of slowing down during this lengthy winning streak, while Andrews remains one of the top teams in the region despite Friday’s result.
