Hiwassee Dam Sweeps Blue Ridge

MURPHY, N.C. — The Hiwassee Dam Lady Eagles cruised to a 3-0 conference victory over Blue Ridge Early College on Thursday night, extending their strong run in league play with a dominant performance at home.
The Lady Eagles dispatched the visiting Bobcats 25-17, 25-13 and 25-18 in a match that wrapped up around 7:15 p.m. at Hiwassee Dam High School. The win improved Hiwassee Dam to 5-15 overall and 4-1 in conference play, boosting their league winning percentage to .800.
Blue Ridge Early College fell to 3-13 overall and 0-4 in the conference, dropping their league mark to .000. The Bobcats, who entered with a 2-5 home record but struggled on the road at 1-8, managed just 48 points across the three sets.
The victory gives Hiwassee Dam three conference wins in their last four matches, a bright spot amid a 3-5 home ledger and 2-10 road record. The Lady Eagles now hold a season sets-won total of 26 against 48 losses, showing resilience in a tough 25-26 campaign.
Hiwassee Dam looks to build on the momentum in its next outing, a home match against Highlands on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
