ree

HAYESVILLE, NC — The Hayesville Lady Yellow Jackets (21-3) continued their dominant run, securing their seventh straight victory with a commanding 3-0 sweep over the Robbinsville Black Knights (10-9) on Thursday night. The Yellowjackets showcased their prowess on the court, leaving no room for doubt in a match that ended with set scores of 25-9, 25-18, and 25-16.

The Lady Jackets came into the game riding a wave of momentum, having won six consecutive matches, including a 3-0 victory over Robbinsville earlier this season. Their performance in the first set was particularly commanding, setting the tone with a decisive 25-9 rout. Hayesville’s relentless offense and airtight defense kept Robbinsville on their heels, as the Black Knights struggled to find their rhythm.

While Robbinsville showed some fight in the second and third sets, narrowing the gap with scores of 25-18 and 25-16, respectively, Hayesville’s consistency proved too much to overcome. This marks the second time this season that the LAdy Jackets have dispatched Robbinsville in straight sets, solidifying their dominance in the matchup.

For Robbinsville, the loss extends a tough stretch, marking their fifth consecutive defeat on the road. Despite their 10-9 record, the Black Knights are facing an uphill battle as they head into their next challenge against rival Cherokee at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6.

Hayesville, meanwhile, shows no signs of slowing down. With a sparkling 21-3 record, the Lady Jackets are gearing up for another Smoky Mountain Conference clash against familiar foe Andrews at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7. If their recent form is any indication, Hayesville will be a force to be reckoned with as the regular season comes to a close.
