BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. — The Union County Lady Panthers continued their dominant run, securing their sixth consecutive victory with a 5-2 win over the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors on Thursday. The victory, part of a doubleheader sweep that included a 4-0 shutout earlier in the day, showcased the Panthers’ relentless offense and sturdy defense.
The Lady Panthers, now 14-6 on the season, have been a force in recent weeks, winning five of their last six games by an average margin of nearly three runs. Their latest triumph over the Warriors (3-15) marked the second time this season Union County has topped Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, underscoring their command in the matchup.
Union County’s pitching and defense have been key to their success, allowing just 2.8 runs per game on average. The Panthers’ balanced attack was on display against the Warriors, as they capitalized on timely hits and solid fielding to secure the 5-2 win.
Looking ahead, the Lady Panthers face a tough test when they take on Sonoraville at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23. Both teams boast stingy defenses, with Sonoraville allowing a mere 1.3 runs per game, setting the stage for a low-scoring battle where every run will be hard-fought.
With momentum on their side, Union County aims to keep their streak alive and continue climbing the region standings.
