BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. — The Union County Panthers volleyball team continued their dominant run, securing two decisive 2-0 victories against the North Murray Mountaineers and the Murray County Indians on Tuesday, Sept. 23, boosting their season record to an impressive 20-11.

In the first match against North Murray, the Panthers made quick work of the first set, cruising to a 25-14 win. The second set proved more competitive, but Union County held firm, clinching it 25-20 to complete the sweep. Emry Sosensky led the offense with six kills, while Kamryn Brown orchestrated the attack with 18 assists.

Jordan Beavers was a standout at the service line, delivering four aces to keep the Mountaineers on their heels.

North Murray struggled to find their rhythm, dropping to a 5-25 record after losing 11 of their last 13 matches. Union County, meanwhile, extended their strong form, having won four of their last five contests, including three straight 2-0 victories over North Murray in their recent meetings.

Later that evening, the Panthers faced Murray County and maintained their momentum with another 2-0 triumph. Emry Sosensky again powered the offense, racking up eight kills, supported by Kamryn Brown’s 21 assists. Samantha Combs controlled the service line with three aces, helping Union County secure their second win of the day. The victory marked back-to-back wins over Murray County, who fell to 10-15 after their third consecutive loss.

The Panthers’ balanced attack and disciplined play have been key to their success this season. Sosensky’s consistent offensive output, paired with Brown’s playmaking and contributions from Beavers and Combs, have made Union County a formidable force in the region.

Looking ahead, Union County will face Flowery Branch at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, aiming to carry their winning streak forward. With a 20-11 record and a string of dominant performances, the Panthers are poised to make a strong push as the season progresses.
