Mountain Lions Roll to Fifth Straight Win, Down Erskine 84–59

The Young Harris College Mountain Lions extended their winning streak to five games with a dominant 84–59 road victory over Erskine College on Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 7) at Belk Arena. 


Player of the Game honors go to Rhiannon Saller, who powered the Mountain Lions with a game-high 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting, including two three-pointers, while grabbing nine rebounds in 27 minutes of action. 

With the win, Young Harris improves to 10–4 overall and 4–2 in Conference Carolinas, while Erskine falls to 1–9 (0–4 CC). 


INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

  • Rhiannon Saller led all scorers with 19 points and nine rebounds, shooting 7-of-9 from the field and 2-of-3 from deep. 

  • Kamryn Bates added 15 points, seven boards, and two assists, knocking down two triples. 

  • Annalise Malone chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds, going a perfect 6-of-6 at the line. 

  • Joy Tchamabe provided a spark off the bench with eight points and six rebounds in 15 minutes. 

  • Katia Nekic hit two three-pointers for six points in limited action. 

  • Young Harris shot 52.8% from the field and 40.0% from three.  

  • The Mountain Lions dominated the glass with 47 rebounds, including 20 second-chance points, and scored 34 points in the paint. 

  • Erskine finished at 33.3% overall, 20.0% from deep, and 50.0% at the line. 

  • Young Harris never trailed, building a 46–34 halftime lead behind a scorching second quarter where they shot 56.3% and hit five triples. 

  • The Mountain Lions' bench contributed 35 points, helping seal the win.
