The Bulldogs started with a 42-14 win on Aug. 16, followed by high-scoring victories, including a 49-7 rout on Aug. 30, a 54-6 win on Sept. 27, and a 35-6 triumph on Nov. 1. They averaged 35 points per game in key matchups. Defensively, they held opponents to about 14 points per game during the regular season, securing wins like 31-7 on Oct. 11 and 42-7 on Oct. 25.

In the 2024 NCHSAA Football Championships (1A), the Bulldogs won 21-11 in the first round on Nov. 22 and 34-21 in the second round on Nov. 29. Their season ended with an 8-26 loss in the third round on Dec. 6, but they proved their strength against top teams.

With a challenging schedule ahead, as listed on MaxPreps.com, the team aims to defend their 1A/2A Smoky Mountain Conference title and make another deep playoff run.

The Bulldogs open the season on Aug. 22 against Franklin at Western Carolina University at 7:30 p.m., a non-conference matchup that sets the stage for a tough early slate. They follow with road games against Heard County on Aug. 29 and A.C. Reynolds on Sept. 12, both at 7:30 p.m., testing their mettle against strong out-of-conference opponents. A home game against East Surry on Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m. offers a chance to showcase their depth early.

Conference play begins Sept. 26 with a road game against Cherokee at 7:30 p.m., kicking off a critical stretch. The Bulldogs host Rosman on Oct. 3 and Robbinsville on Oct. 10, both at 7:30 p.m., before traveling to Andrews on Oct. 17. Home games against Hayesville on Oct. 24 and a season-ending road trip to Swain County on Oct. 31, both at 7:30 p.m., round out the conference schedule. These five conference games will determine their standing in the 1A/2A Smoky Mountain Conference, where they went undefeated last season.

With a balanced roster and a history of dominant performances, the Bulldogs are poised for success. Their ability to handle a mix of non-conference challenges and a competitive conference slate will be key. Fans can follow the season on MaxPreps.com for schedules, tickets, and updates, with select games available to watch online.

The 2025 season promises to highlight the Bulldogs’ resilience and talent as they aim for another conference crown and a strong postseason.
