MINNEAPOLIS — No. 19 Georgia withstood a strong second-half surge from Minnesota to earn a 1-1 draw Sunday afternoon at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium.

Fifth-year midfielder Sage Glover scored the Bulldogs’ first goal of the season on a first-half penalty kick, and graduate goalkeeper Jordan Brown made seven saves in her return from injury to help Georgia (0-0-2) secure its second consecutive draw. Minnesota is 1-0-1.

Following an appeal by Georgia coach Keidane McAlpine, a tackle of graduate forward Emma Pettersen by Minnesota goalkeeper Sarah Martin was ruled a penalty after video review. Glover converted the spot kick for the first goal of her Georgia career, giving the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead at halftime.

Georgia had another scoring chance in the 29th minute when senior midfielder Honoka Hamano earned a free kick, but Martin saved the low attempt. The Bulldogs outshot Minnesota 3-2 in the first half.

Minnesota dominated the second half, outshooting Georgia 15-3 and finishing with a 17-6 advantage for the match. Davy Mokelke tied the score in the 62nd minute on an assist from Savannah Enriquez.

The Golden Gophers continued to pressure, but Brown repeatedly turned them away. It was her first start since the 2024 NCAA Tournament first round and matched her highest save total since the 2024 SEC Tournament quarterfinals against Arkansas.

Georgia managed two shots in the final five minutes, both saved by Martin.

Hamano led the Bulldogs with two shots. Four other Georgia players each recorded one. Sophomore defender Maddy Herniter joined Brown in playing the full 90 minutes.

Georgia returns home to host James Madison at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Soccer in Sanford match at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium. Admission is free, with tickets available at GeorgiaDogs.com. The game will air on SEC Network.
