Pisgah Edges Murphy in Tight Soccer Match, 3-2

MURPHY, N.C. — Pisgah High School’s boys soccer team continued their strong start to the season, defeating Murphy High School 3-2 in a closely contested match on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025. The loss marked a repeat of last year’s August defeat for Murphy against the Bears.


The Bulldogs struggled to find their footing, falling to a 0-2-1 record with the loss. Meanwhile, Pisgah’s victory bolstered their impressive 4-0-2 record, having won three of their last four matches.


Murphy will look to rebound as they face Tri-County in their first in-conference match of the season at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Pisgah, riding their recent success, will travel to take on Erwin at 6:45 p.m. on Sept. 4.
