Robbinsville Lady Knights Edge Out Murphy Lady Bulldogs in Thrilling Volleyball Match

MURPHY, N.C. — The Robbinsville Lady Knights narrowly defeated the Murphy Lady Bulldogs 3-1 in a tightly contested high school volleyball match on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, at Murphy High School, ending Murphy’s undefeated start to the season.

The final set scores were 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, and 28-26, with each set decided by three points or fewer, showcasing the intensity and competitiveness of the matchup. Despite the loss, Murphy fought hard, echoing their previous encounter with Robbinsville in October 2024, which also ended in defeat for the Bulldogs.

The loss dropped Murphy’s record to 2-1, while Robbinsville improved to 3-1, bolstering their standing early in the season.

Both teams will hit the road for their next matches. Murphy will travel to face Highlands at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Robbinsville will take on Summit Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
