YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College women's soccer student-athlete Samantha Thomson has been named to the 2024-25 Conference Carolinas All-Community Service Team, recognizing her outstanding commitment to service, leadership, and academic excellence.

Thomson, a dedicated member of the Mountain Lions program, was one of just six student-athletes across the entire conference selected for this prestigious honor. The All-Community Service Team celebrates students who not only meet high academic standards—with a minimum GPA of 2.7—but also demonstrate a deep commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.

Thomson's influence was felt far beyond the pitch. She played a key role in helping the Young Harris athletics department set new all-time records in community service hours and GPA. Her leadership and service reflect the core values of both the College and Conference Carolinas.

The Mountain Lions women's soccer team finished the 2024 season with a strong 9-6-3 record, including a thrilling home playoff victory. Off the field, Thomson exemplified what it means to be a student-athlete at Young Harris, balancing academics, athletics, and a passion for giving back.

Conference Carolinas continues to emphasize the importance of community engagement, and Thomson's selection underscores Young Harris College's dedication to developing champions in body, mind, and soul.
