JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Jim Jarvis went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs, and Garrett Baumann scattered four hits over 5.0 scoreless innings as the Gwinnett Stripers (35-32, 73-68) rolled to a 10-2 victory over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (28-38, 70-70) on Thursday night at VyStar Ballpark. Gwinnett leads the series 3-1.

Decisive Plays:  The Stripers stormed to a 3-0 lead in the first inning against Jace Beck (L, 1-2) as Jarvis led off the game with a triple and scored on a wild pitch, Lizandro Espinoza walked and scored on a wild pitch, and David McCabe socked a solo home run (4) to left-center field. That lead surged to 7-0 an inning later as Jose Azocar singled and scored on a wild pitch, Espinoza laced a two-run double, and Rowdy Tellez ripped an RBI double. Jarvis drilled another RBI double in the third to make it 8-0. Sac flies by McCabe in the sixth and Jarvis in the seventh extended the Gwinnett advantage to 10-0. Jacksonville ended the shutout in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Johnny Olmstead and got a homer from Brayden Taylor (4) in the ninth.

Key Contributors: Baumann (W, 3-4) allowed four hits and no walks while striking out four over 5.0 innings, beating Jacksonville for the second time this season. Jarvis (2-for-3, double, triple, 3 runs, 2 RBIs) and Azocar (3-for-5, double, 3 runs) each had multi-hit nights for the Stripers, while Espinoza (1-for-3, double, 2 runs, 2 RBIs) and McCabe (1-for-3, homer, 2 RBIs) also had multi-RBI games.
