Towns County Indians and Lady Indians Face Tough Road Losses Against Rabun County

Staff Report

The Towns County High School basketball programs experienced a demanding evening on the road Tuesday, December 9th, as both the Indians and Lady Indians fell to Rabun County in non-conference action hosted in Tiger, GA.

The Towns County Lady Indians faced a formidable challenge against the Rabun County girls' varsity squad, struggling to find offensive rhythm throughout the contest and ultimately succumbing to a decisive 71-15 defeat. This score marks a difficult point in their schedule as they look to build momentum.

In the subsequent boys' varsity game, the Towns County Indians demonstrated a more potent offense, managing to put up 62 points for the night, but they could not match the scoring output of the Rabun County team, resulting in an 83-62 loss. The Indians showed tenacity by maintaining a consistent scoring effort across all four quarters, posting 14 points in the first, 12 in the second, and 18 points in both the third and final quarters.

However, Rabun County's offensive consistency, particularly in the first three periods, secured their victory.

Both the Indians and Lady Indians will now shift their focus to their next scheduled matchup. The teams will have an opportunity to regroup and return to the home court when they host Highlands, NC, this Friday, December 12th.
