Towns County Sheriff's Office
Press Release
Over the past two weeks, the Towns County Sheriff's Office has remained hard at work as we continue the assumption of office and strengthen operations across every division.
Our agency recently completed a comprehensive audit of our evidence room conducted by the Banks County Sheriff's Office. In addition, we have been inventorying 100 percent of all county-owned equipment and government property. Unfortunately, these processes revealed missing items in both areas. We are actively investigating these discrepancies and will provide updates as appropriate. Accountability and transparency remain top priorities.
We have also been conducting facility inspections and beginning efforts to rehabilitate portions of the jail, addressing long-standing maintenance and safety concerns to ensure a more secure and functional environment for staff and inmates.
With Thanksgiving behind us, we extend our sincere appreciation to the Towns County Commissioner's Office for providing a Thanksgiving meal for our employees. Your support for our staff is truly valued.
As we move into the Christmas season, our agency is collecting gifts and monetary donations for our annual holiday initiative to support local families in need. We are grateful for the generosity of our community each year and invite anyone who wishes to contribute to reach out or drop off items during business hours.
We appreciate the continued support of our citizens as we work to build a stronger, more efficient and service focused sheriff's Office for Towns County.
