Towns County SROs Complete C.H.A.M.P.S Training

HIAWASSEE, Ga. — Two Towns County Schools Resource Officers, Sgt. Bryan Forsyth and Deputy Darringer Barrett, successfully completed C.H.A.M.P.S Instructor Training hosted by the Georgia Sheriff’s Association. The training equips officers with tools to teach students skills for staying safe, avoiding drugs, and managing peer pressure in everyday situations.

The C.H.A.M.P.S program, designed to empower youth with decision-making and life skills, enhances the officers’ ability to support students in navigating challenges. Forsyth and Barrett’s completion of the training strengthens the Towns County Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to fostering a safe and positive environment for students.
