Tri-County Racetrack in Brasstown, NC Kicks Off 2026 Season with Memorial Day Mash

BRASSTOWN, N.C. — Tri-County Racetrack is set to roar back to life this Memorial Day weekend with its highly anticipated Season Opener, billed as the Memorial Day Mash. The Friday night event on May 22 promises an exciting evening of dirt track racing action to launch the new season.


The evening’s schedule begins with the Pit Gate opening at 4:30 p.m., followed by Grandstands opening at 5:30 p.m. Drivers will gather for a mandatory meeting at 7:15 p.m., with green-flag racing scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.


The card will feature a strong lineup of classes, including:

  • Limited Late Models

  • 604 Late Models (with a note that cars with 5 or fewer runs will compete alongside Limited)

  • 602 Late Models

  • Street Stock

  • Open Wheel Modifieds

  • Front Wheel Drive

  • Crown Vic

  • Hobby Stock (Rookie)


Track officials emphasized that all classes listed will have multiple opportunities to compete throughout the 2026 season, giving drivers plenty of chances to rack up points and showcase their skills.


“More information coming soon!” the track announced, hinting at additional details, special attractions, or ticket information to be released in the coming days.


Tri-County Racetrack, located in the scenic mountains of western North Carolina, has long been a favorite destination for local racing fans and traveling competitors alike. The Season Opener serves as the perfect kickoff to what promises to be another thrilling year of Summer night dirt track battles.
