Union County Lady Panthers Split Volleyball Matches at Home

BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. — The Union County Lady Panthers varsity volleyball team had a mixed outcome in their home matches on Thursday, Aug. 21, at Union County High School, falling to Franklin County 2-1 but rebounding with a 2-0 victory over Pickens County.


In the first match, the Lady Panthers faced a tough Franklin County Lady Lions squad. The closely contested battle saw Franklin County edge out Union County in the first set, 26-24. The Lady Panthers responded strongly, taking the second set 25-19. However, Franklin County sealed the match with a 15-13 win in the decisive third set, handing Union County a 2-1 loss.


Later that evening, Union County bounced back against the Pickens County Lady Dragons. The Lady Panthers dominated from the start, cruising to a 25-19 victory in the first set and following it with a commanding 25-12 win in the second set to secure a 2-0 sweep.


The Lady Panthers will look to build on their momentum as they hit the road on Tuesday, Aug. 26, to take on Flowery Branch and the host Stephens County.
