HAYESVILLE, N.C. — The Hayesville Yellowjackets delivered a commanding performance, dismantling the Tri-County Jaguars 5-0 in a non-conference soccer matchup on Thursday night, Sept. 18.
Colin Walker stole the show, single-handedly scoring three goals to power Hayesville to the decisive victory. The Yellow Jackets' relentless attack overwhelmed Tri-County’s defense, marking a stark contrast to their previous encounter, a narrow 1-0 win on Oct. 24, 2024.
The win improves Hayesville’s record to 3-2, showcasing their growing momentum this season. Meanwhile, Tri-County’s struggles continue, as the loss drops their record to 0-4.
Hayesville’s dominance over Tri-County is nothing new. The Yellow Jackets have won all seven of their most recent matchups, including an 8-0 thrashing on Sept. 16, 2024, and a 6-1 rout on Sept. 11, 2023. Thursday’s result further cements their control in this rivalry.
Looking ahead, Hayesville faces a familiar foe, Swain County, on the road at 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22.
