Yellow Jackets Keep Rolling with Win

ree

The Hayesville High School Yellow Jackets continue to look every bit like a team on a mission.

Hayesville turned in its most impressive offensive performance of the young season Friday night, rolling past the Nantahala Hawks 70-50 on the road.

The 70 points marked a season high for the Yellow Jackets, who remained perfect at 4-0 with the convincing victory.

From the opening tip, everything seemed to fall Hayesville’s way. The Yellow Jackets pushed the tempo, spread the scoring around, and applied steady pressure on both ends of the floor. By the time the final buzzer sounded, Hayesville had not only secured another win, but also snapped Nantahala’s five-game home winning streak that dated back to last season.

The win was the latest example of Hayesville’s growing confidence and consistency. Through four games, the Yellow Jackets have overwhelmed opponents with balanced play and strong defense, winning each contest by double digits. Their recent stretch has included dominant road victories, such as a 55-24 win over Summit Charter Academy, a 65-45 decision at Highlands, and a 69-20 rout of Blue Ridge Early College.

While Hayesville celebrated another milestone night, Nantahala fell to 5-6 on the season, with the Hawks now turning their attention to conference rival Swain County.

The Yellow Jackets won’t have much time to enjoy the victory, as a familiar challenge awaits. Hayesville is set to face longtime rival Hiwassee Dam at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16 in what promises to be a key inter-conference matchup. With momentum on their side and an unblemished record intact, Hayesville will look to keep its early-season surge rolling.
