Andy Johnson’s Roof Dog to Rock Hayesville Square

HAYESVILLE, N.C. — The Clay County Communities Revitalization Association will host an evening of free live music on the square with Andy Johnson’s Roof Dog, a roots and southern rock band from middle Georgia. Food and beverages will be available starting at 6 p.m.

Johnson fronts the band on lap steel guitar and vocals, joined by longtime bandmate Trey Dunnahoo on bass and acoustic guitar, Ethan Hamlin on keys and Jody Hightower on percussion. The group regularly performs at venues such as Grant’s Lounge in Macon, Ga., and has released records including its 2023 full-length album “Roofdog” and the EP “White Chimney Sunset.”

Vendors include Dragon Ass Smoked BBQ, Papa Kash and the American Legion Auxiliary. Nomad Nutrition will offer loaded teas and hydration drinks. Beer will be available for purchase, and local restaurants will remain open.

Sponsors for the series are Highway 69 Storage, Edward Jones Financial Advisor Jodi Sullivan, The Richard Kelley Group-RE/MAX Town and Country, the Rotary Club of Lake Chatuge, Historic Hayesville Inc., the Clay County Historical and Arts Society, the American Legion and Nantahala Bank and Trust.

Shuttles to and from parking areas will be provided by Historic Hayesville Inc. The event is pet-friendly on leash, child-friendly and wheelchair accessible.
