Blairsville, GA — The Safe Pet Project, in partnership with Notteley Oaks Animal Hospital, is bringing back the beloved “Dog Days of Summer” event to the Mountain Village Shopping Center on Saturday, June 20th. The family-friendly gathering promises a full morning and afternoon of canine fun, education, and community connection from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 307 Cleveland Street.
The festive day kicks off earlier with the Pet Parade at 9 a.m., starting at Blairsville City Hall. Organizers encourage pet owners to join the procession and show off their furry friends before heading over to the main event.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of low- and no-cost services designed to support pet health and happiness, including:
Low & No Cost Vaccines
Free Microchipping
Nail Trims
On-site Adoptable Dogs looking for their forever homes
Local pet service vendors will also be on hand, along with food trucks offering refreshments for two- and four-legged guests alike. The event’s cheerful tagline — “A Tail-Wagging Good Time” — perfectly captures the spirit of the day, complete with colorful cartoon pups, butterflies, and sunny mountain scenery on the official flyer.
The celebration is made possible thanks to generous community partners including Blairsville Printing, Sugar Magnolia Cats & Interns, River City Bank, and sponsors Jesse & Matt Cathy. Safe Pet Project’s mission to promote responsible pet ownership and animal welfare in the North Georgia mountains will be on full display.
Whether you’re bringing your own dog, looking to adopt, or simply want to enjoy a sunny Saturday supporting local animals and businesses, “Dog Days of Summer” offers something for everyone. Mark your calendars for June 20th and get ready to celebrate the dogs (and their people) who make Blairsville such a special place.
