Clay County Sheriff's Office
Press Release
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that Property and Evidence Manager Stephanie Elliott and Lieutenant Bruce Moore have recently earned certification in Property and Evidence Room Management through the North Carolina Justice Academy.
This specialized certification reflects advanced training in proper collection, storage, security, and disposition of property and evidence handled by law enforcement agencies. Their achievement demonstrates a continued commitment by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office to professionalism, accountability, and best practices in evidence management.
Mrs. Elliott and Lt. Moore are also members of the International Association for Property and Evidence (IAPE), an organization dedicated to providing professional education related to the collection, storage, and disposition of property and evidence stored by law enforcement agencies. The organization further promotes public trust by encouraging agencies to ensure that property and evidence are available for court presentation, returned to their rightful owners, or otherwise disposed of in a prompt, efficient, and lawful manner.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office recognizes the critical role proper evidence management plays in the criminal justice process and public confidence. This certification enhances the agency’s ability to serve the community with integrity, transparency, and adherence to the highest professional standards.
