Clay County Board of Education Offers Five Residential Lots for Sale by Sealed Bid

Hayesville, N.C. — The Clay County Board of Education is selling five individual residential building lots located off West Cherry Road in Hayesville by sealed bid.
The properties, which range in size from just under one acre to 1.15 acres, are being offered “as is” and are subject to all current easements and restrictions. All five lots have access to community water.
Lots available:
Lot 2: 1.03 acres
Lot 3: 0.97 acres
Lot 4: 0.98 acres
Lot 6: 1.15 acres
Lot 7: 1.00 acres
The minimum bid is $15,000 per lot. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Property Bid – Do Not Open” and must include the bidder’s full name, address, telephone number, email address, and the specific lot number.
Important deadlines:
Sealed bids are due by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Bids will be opened at 5:30 p.m. the same day in the Clay County Schools Board of Education Meeting Room, located at 154 Yellow Jacket Drive, Hayesville, NC 28904.
The sale is consistent with North Carolina General Statute 160A-268 and a resolution passed by the Board of Education on May 18, 2026. The Board reserves the right to accept or reject any bid offer.
