Clay County Fire & Rescue Responds to 47 Calls in One Week

CLAY COUNTY, N.C. — Clay County Fire & Rescue responded to 47 calls for service between April 5 and April 11, according to a weekly report released by the department.
Medical emergencies accounted for the majority of responses, with 27 calls during the reporting period. Fire crews also handled 11 incidents involving outside or brush fires, illegal burning, or smoke investigations, reflecting an active week for fire-related calls.
In addition, firefighters responded to three fire alarms and three motor vehicle collisions.
The department also reported two structure fires within the county and assisted on one additional structure fire through a mutual aid response.
Officials continue to remind residents to use caution when burning outdoors and to follow local safety guidelines to help prevent accidental fires.
