Clay County Public Safety Expo set for Oct. 10 at Recreation Fields

HAYESVILLE, N.C. — Clay County public safety agencies will host a free Public Safety Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Clay County Recreation ball fields.

The event is designed to let residents meet local first responders, see emergency vehicles and equipment up close, and take part in safety demonstrations. Organizers say families can climb aboard fire trucks, sheriff’s vehicles and ambulances, and that a medical helicopter is expected to be on display.

Children’s activities, games, prizes, giveaways and photo opportunities are planned. Community partners will also have booths.

The expo is billed as a chance for residents to learn how local agencies work together and to see the equipment used in emergencies. Admission is free.
