Eagles Torch Copper Basin With Season-High Outburst

ree

Winning is always satisfying, but doing it with your best offensive showing of the season makes it even sweeter. Hiwassee Dam proved that on Friday night, rolling past the Copper Basin Cougars 71–29 in a dominant performance that never left much doubt.

The Eagles were firing on all cylinders from the opening tip, posting their highest point total of the young season and stretching their winning streak over Copper Basin to nine straight games. Whether it was pushing the tempo, sharing the basketball, or clamping down defensively, Hiwassee Dam controlled nearly every facet.

While the Cougars struggled to keep pace, one player who refused to back down was Carson Parris, who turned in a strong 12-point effort despite the lopsided final score. But his work alone wasn’t enough to slow an Eagles squad that seemed intent on making a statement.

Friday’s win lifts Hiwassee Dam to 3–1, continuing a promising start as the Eagles settle into their early schedule. Copper Basin, meanwhile, extends its skid to four straight, falling to 0–5–1.

Both teams now look ahead to matchups with Polk County. Hiwassee Dam will welcome the Wildcats to town on Thursday at 7 p.m., while the Cougars won’t see them until a road trip on Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m.

If the Eagles can bottle up the energy and efficiency they displayed Friday, they’ll be a handful for anyone who walks into their gym.
