East Jackson Edges Towns County in Thrilling 10-9 Softball Showdown

Commerce, GA — The East Jackson Eagles varsity softball team pulled off a dramatic 10-9 victory over the Towns County Indians in a non-conference matchup Monday at home.
The game saw an explosive start, with Towns County jumping to a 7-3 lead after the first inning. The Indians added two more runs in the second, but East Jackson answered with two of their own, narrowing the gap to 9-5. The Eagles’ defense tightened, holding Towns County scoreless over the final five innings. East Jackson chipped away, scoring one run in the fifth and erupting for four in the sixth to secure the walk-off win.
The Eagles pounded out 13 hits while capitalizing on six Towns County errors. East Jackson committed three errors but held firm in critical moments. Towns County managed nine hits in the losing effort.
East Jackson (2-8) looks to build on the momentum when they host Franklin County (7-9) in a 2A Region 8 clash Tuesday. Meanwhile, Towns County (3-9) heads to Washington-Wilkes (3-10) for a 1A D-II Region 8 matchup Thursday, Sept. 25.
