Evening Shopping Experience in Downtown Murphy

Downtown Murphy retailers are keeping the lights on later this fall, giving shoppers a standing Friday-night invitation from now through the holidays.

Beginning Friday, October 2, and running through Friday, December 18, participating stores in the downtown district are extending hours, with many staying open until 7 p.m. The stretch is aimed at people who want to wander the sidewalks after work, catch the fall and holiday storefront displays, and still make it to Murphy High School football.

Organizers are pairing the later shopping window with Friday Night Lights. The idea is simple: stroll downtown, shop and dine, then head to the stadium for Bulldogs football.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to shop, dine, and discover something new,” promoters said in announcing the hours. They encouraged residents and visitors to spend Friday evenings downtown among the seasonal decorations before the game.

Participating retailers include:

  • Gray Matters Boutique

  • Indigo Mountain Traders

  • The Murphy Art Center (MAC)

  • Mimo’s Ice Cream & Gift Shop

  • Black & White Market

  • Kephart Outdoors

  • Open Studios at the Cherokee County Arts Council

  • Linen & Pearl

  • House of Esther

  • Narrative Bookstore

  • Reefers Dispensary

  • Peaceful Trails

  • Serenity Mountain

  • Enchanted Butterfly

  • Glitz & Glamour

  • The Junktion

Hours can vary by shop, so visitors are encouraged to check with individual stores. The extended Friday schedule continues each week through December 18.
