Fire Quickly Contained at Rib Country Restaurant in Clay County

Hayesville, N.C. — A kitchen fire at Rib Country restaurant was swiftly extinguished by the establishment’s automatic suppression system on Wednesday afternoon, according to Clay County Fire and Rescue.


The fire department received a call at approximately 4:50 p.m. on Aug. 28 from Rib Country, reporting a fire in the restaurant’s kitchen. Upon arrival, firefighters found that the automatic suppression system had already put out the blaze.


No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was not disclosed in the initial report.

Clay County Fire and Rescue reminded the public to call 911 immediately in the event of an emergency or if one has just occurred. “If you are experiencing an emergency, just experienced an emergency, or are about to experience an emergency, please call 911,” the department stated.
