Blairsville, GA. — Volunteer firefighters from Fire Station 4 gathered Oct. 7 for a hands-on training session focused on hose operations and teamwork.
With several new members joining the department, Lt. Przekop and Firefighter Lombardo led instruction on using both 3-inch and 5-inch hoses to connect to fire engines, tankers, and hydrants. The training highlighted the advantages and disadvantages of each hose size for different firefighting scenarios.
Lt. Przekop also brought Engine 13 from the nearby Career Fire Station to familiarize volunteers with the additional equipment and its placement on the apparatus.
The session provided valuable experience for new firefighters while strengthening teamwork among the volunteers. Fire Station 4 continues to uphold its commitment to the community — “Our family, protecting your family.”
