Young Harris PorchFest Set for Sunday with New Jam, Organ Concerts

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — Downtown Young Harris will host PorchFest 2026 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, with live music, vendors, food trucks and a new community jam session.

The rain-or-shine festival is free and open to the public. It is organized by the city and Main Street Young Harris and coincides with Young Harris College Family Weekend. College organizers billed the gathering as the fifth annual Porchfest.

Musical stages will be at Cable’s Gallery, Young Harris Wing House and The Fix. Cable’s is scheduled to feature Sammy Ensley, New Byers Creek and The Griddle Lickers. Wilder Things Than Us returns to The Fix. True Youngblood and Ava Serrano will perform at Young Harris Wing House.

Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church will add pipe organ mini concerts and hymn-sings in the afternoon, a new element this year.

Also new is an all-day community jam for anyone who plays an instrument. It will be held at the corner of U.S. 76 and Georgia 66, near the Zell Miller/HOPE historical marker on the grounds of the former Young Harris College Alumni House.

Main Street will have arts and crafts vendors, community organizations and food trucks. Education majors from Young Harris College’s Student Georgia Association of Educators chapter will staff a children’s activities booth. A raffle will offer giveaways from vendors.
