BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. — The Gilmer Bobcats unleashed a commanding 5-1 victory over the Union County Panthers in a high school softball clash on Tuesday, exacting revenge for their defeat in October 2024. The Bobcats’ potent offense and sharp defense left the Panthers reeling, boosting Gilmer’s record to a perfect 2-0.
Union County, now standing at 1-1, couldn’t match Gilmer’s intensity, managing only a single run. The loss marked a stark contrast to their previous win against the Bobcats last fall.
The Panthers will look to regroup when they host Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, August, 7. Meanwhile, the undefeated Bobcats hit the road for the first time this season to face Coahulla Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
