Hayesville Kicks Off August with Diverse Events

HAYESVILLE, N.C. — Hayesville is set to host a variety of events throughout August, featuring music, markets, and cultural showcases, organizers announced.
The month begins with the weekly Farmers Market on the Square every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Friday, Aug. 8, the CCCRA Summer Concert Series kicks off with Joe Average Band performing at 7 p.m. on the square.
Saturday, Aug. 9, brings the Songwriters Showcase at The Peacock, featuring Ava Paige, Abigail Dowd, and Moose Miller, hosted by Rob Tiger at 7:30 p.m. The Madelyn Lea Scholarship Concert follows on Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. at Hayesville’s FUMC, with tickets available at Tiger’s, Body Sense, and I.H.M.
Friday, Aug. 15, offers an Open Mic Night at Corner Coffee and Wine from 6-7:30 p.m. and The Petty Hearts’ Tom Petty Tribute Concert at The Peacock at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 16, the Clay County Heritage Day runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. next to Cherokee Homestead Exhibit, followed by Toby Keith Tribute Concert at The Peacock at 7:30 p.m.
The CCCRA Summer Concert Series continues with Southern Vantage on Friday, Aug. 22, at 7 p.m. on the square. Saturday, Aug. 23, features Appalachian Tales at The Peacock at 7:30 p.m. The month closes with Pony Patty Bingo Beal Center Fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 30, with tickets at 828-415-1623, and Masterpieces for the Peacock: Live and Silent Art Auction from 5:30-8 p.m., with proceeds supporting a new roof.
