Hayesville Lady Yellow Jackets Sweep Highlands in Volleyball Showdown

HIGHLANDS, N.C. — The Hayesville Lady Yellow Jackets dominated the Highlands Lady Highlanders in a decisive 3-0 sweep on Monday, Aug. 18 at Highlands High School. The victory improves Hayesville’s record to 3-1, while Highlands drops to 0-3, with two of those losses against Hayesville.

The Lady Yellow Jackets showcased their strength early, cruising to a 25-6 win in the first set. Highlands put up a stronger fight in the second set, but Hayesville prevailed 25-21. The third set saw the Lady Yellow Jackets seal the match with a 25-17 victory, maintaining control throughout.

Hayesville’s ability to bend but not break proved pivotal in holding off the set two rally from Highlands. This win marks the second time this season that Hayesville has defeated Highlands, reinforcing their dominance in the matchup.

Looking ahead, the Lady Yellow Jackets will host Smoky Mountain High School on Tuesday, Aug. 19. The junior varsity match begins at 5 p.m., with the varsity game following at 6 p.m.
