Hayesville’s Season Ends with Second-Round Loss to Gray Stone Day

The Hayesville Yellow Jacket soccer team saw its playoff run come to an end Thursday night, falling 8–0 to Gray Stone Day in the second round of the NCHSAA 1A State Playoffs.


The Jackets faced a tough road challenge against a talented Knights squad, ranked 178th in the state according to MaxPreps. Hayesville entered the matchup ranked 493rd and had to contend not only with a higher-seeded opponent but also a long road trip.

Despite the scoreline, Hayesville battled through the match and capped off a season that showed grit and growth from a young roster. The loss dropped the Jackets’ final record to 6-9-1, marking the end of their 2025 campaign.


Gray Stone Day improved to 13-3-4 on the season and continues its postseason push after winning eight of its last nine contests.
