ROBBINSVILLE, N.C. — The Hayesville High School varsity volleyball team dominated Robbinsville in a 3-0 sweep during a Smoky Mountain Conference match on Tuesday, Sept. 9. The final set scores were 25-15, 25-19, and 25-23, showcasing Hayesville's control throughout the game.


Hayesville, ranked 170th in North Carolina and 15th in its class, improved its season record to 9-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play. The team’s strong performance, with a .818 win percentage and a .750 conference win rate, highlighted their consistency, amassing 27 set wins against just 7 losses this season. The Lady Yellow Jackets have been formidable on the road, holding a 4-1 away record.


Robbinsville, ranked 267th in the state and 9th in its class, struggled to find momentum, falling to a 7-4 overall record and 2-2 in conference matches. Despite a respectable .636 win percentage and a 4-2 home record, the Lady Black Knights could not overcome Hayesville’s aggressive play, adding to their season’s 15 set losses against 23 set wins.


The match underscored Hayesville’s dominance in the conference, as they maintained pressure in each set to secure the victory. Another big conference showdown awaits Hayesville as they will host the 8-2 Lady Wildcats of Andrews on Thursday, Sept. 11.
