HAYESVILLE — Hayesville High School teacher Kayla Clonts has been awarded a $1,000 grant from the NC Idea Challenge for a project that will support Career and Technical Education students and young learners in the community.
Clonts’ project, “Little Learners, Big Futures,” will benefit students in the school’s Early Childhood Education pathway. The grant will be used to provide hands-on learning kits for children ages 3 to 5, giving ECE students a chance to design and create materials for the community’s youngest learners.
School officials said they are looking forward to seeing what the ECE students produce.
