Hayesville closed its regular-season home schedule the way it hoped to, with both Lady Yellow Jacket volleyball teams sweeping Andrews on Tuesday night.
Following Senior Night festivities, the varsity Lady Jackets took the main event, 3-0, winning 25-13, 25-23 and 25-14. The middle set was the only one that stayed close. Andrews pushed it to 23 before Hayesville closed it out, then ran away with the third set to finish the sweep.
The night also belonged to two seniors. Reese Segars set the Hayesville High School digs record during the match, and Savannah Burch broke the school assists record. Both marks fell on the last regular-season night the Jackets will play in front of their home crowd.
JV opened the evening with a sweep of its own, 2-0. Hayesville won the sets 25-14 and 25-16, never letting Andrews get a foothold in either one.
The regular season is not quite over. Hayesville finishes on the road Thursday, Oct. 8, at Murphy. Junior varsity plays at 5 p.m., with varsity to follow.
