Hayesville Wrestlers Bring Home Hardware from King of the Mountain Tournament

The Hayesville Yellow Jacket men’s wrestling team turned in a strong performance over the weekend at the King of the Mountain Tournament in Towns County, collecting multiple individual medals and earning a 6th-place team finish against a highly competitive field.
Five Yellow Jackets reached the podium:
Evan Burks – 1st Place
Mason Ray – 3rd Place
Hunter Hill – 4th Place
Rayland Martinez – 3rd Place
Raul “Junior” Rivera-Prieto – 3rd Place
With those standout efforts, Hayesville secured 111 team points, placing sixth overall. The tournament featured powerhouse programs from across the region, with White County taking the top spot with 155.5 points, followed closely by Gordon Central and Indian Land (144.5 each). Hayesville finished ahead of schools such as Prattville Christian Academy, Rabun County, and Murphy.
The Yellow Jackets’ podium finishes reflect depth across the roster and growing momentum early in the season. Head coach and athletes alike praised the physical tournament and viewed the event as valuable postseason preparation.
Hayesville returns to action quickly, traveling to Andrews on Wednesday for the Wild West Duals, where the Jackets will look to continue their medal-collecting trend.
